Here you go sir.

The minidump file may be useless for this problem. It's a file dating back to March the 26th and seemed to have happened only once. ntoskrnl.exe is showed as the probable cause for not being able to verify the timestamp for atapi.sys. Atapi.sys is a driver for the "Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller" software.

Ouch, that was the only file inside my minidump folder...

I will run chkdsk through the gui, but sir after running it what would I do next?

Have just finished reading the instructions again, what type of method should I use? the one through the gui or through the command line? the one through the cmd is a little confusing for me. And may I ask sir is the command line method much more efficient than the one through the gui? since it has switches and all.

If you're more confortable with the GUI, go for it.

But is using the command line method more efficient or not?

They are basically the same thing, only different methods of achieving the same goal.

For example: you can access the Display Properties by right clicking on the desktop and clicking on Properties or, you can go to Start / Run / type desk.cpl. It's the same thing.

Oh I see, so even if I use the gui method the switches /R and /F can be enabled by checking on the two boxes before checking, is that correct sir?

Creating minidump files was not chkdsk's goal. It was to find errors and hopefully correct them. Has it found any errors?
