Have you tried a XP Repair Install or perhaps a sfc /scannow?

Yes it did, some files named dump something I forgot, I just left the chkdsk running because the verification of files took so long to finish I just made lunch and when I got back it was finished. Should I redo it?

Had you previously checked "Automatically fix file system errors" before starting the chkdsk? Did you get a report?

Are you still having the same problems with your computer?

Yes I did, and No I did not get a report. And if ever I was given a report where can that report be located?

I am not experiencing the blue screen anymore though. But the weird thing here is last night I shut down the laptop properly but when I switched on the laptop it ran chkdsk by itself even though I did not schedule any scan. But after that first run of chkdsk was finished I then scheduled another one after start up. Both scans were slow, and I mean slow.

Chkdsk cannot carry out repair functions if any of the files on a disk are locked or in use. So it generally requires a reboot to run a check on any active volume with files in use. Chkdsk then runs before the full system is loaded and files become locked.

If you turn off your computer incorrectly, you may find that Chkdsk will run when you reboot. This is a safety feature to make sure that no file or folder corruption occurred.

Try your computer for a while and you'll see if Chkdsk has indeed fixed some errors causing your BSODs.

Post back later to let me know how it goes.

Ok sir, I'll try observing it more. But ever since the 2 bsods occurred there hasn't been one lately. I mean the laptop worked flawlessly yesterday..well except for the sudden unschedulde chkdsk that happened during my boot. But that was all. I'll just post here my findings so that my thread won't time out. Thank you so much for your help sir!

No need to observe. If you don't have the issue anymore I'd say you're ok now.

Yes, I think it would be preferable. But I'm happy that your problem seems to be over.

Feel free to come back if you ever get the problem again or if you have another issue.

Regards,

Phantom010
