Windows XP Blue Screen STOP 0x00000024
Hey there, I have spent the last couple of days trying to figure out how to fix my comp, i have googled a million times, even searched these forums, burnt boot CDs but unfortunately i have not come to any successes.

Long story short, I was on msn and then it said i signed in somewhere else, i signed back in, it repeated, friend said i spammed him with websites, anyways, i closed msn, the computer completely froze, alt+ctrl+del did not work so I held down the power button until it turned off. I restarted the comp to the one screen no one wants to see and it quickly restarted itself, went to the blue screen, rinse and repeat =P

I have gathered so far that my ntfs.sys file is corrupt and that i need to run chkdsk.
BUT
I can't get into windows and I can not find my windows cd anywhere... Other people have had this issue resolved by using the recovery CD but i can't find mine and don't know of anyone who has a XP Professional cd.

If anyone has any suggestions, please, it would be appreciated.

If there is a way to fix the file by using some sort of boot disk that would be awesome.

I am a bit opposed to formatting as I don't have a windows xp disk to re-install and I do not want to lose all of my music+games+photoshop files+movies etc.

If there is a way to get all of the stuff I want onto a disk or usb or even the secondary hard drive, then that would be great.

Hope to see replies soon =]

You could try the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows.
