You're welcome.

Well it looks like it might be a game patch from these "hits", but not necessarily given how generic that name is. Usually you will see copyright info also on the properties, version page of a file.

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=Up...r=&sa=N&tab=wg

Anyway, if you are now disabling it from starting up, that will be a good test as to whether it a required patch or file for anything you routinely use.

I'll put a tentative "resolved" on this unless you holler for more

Locking up due to MSIE 5.5
I was hit with such a bad virus in September that I had to take my PC to the Gateway store to get it cleaned and running again. Anyway, after I got it back it ran Ok except that on the internet it constantly froze. TRied everything, updated video card, etc, etc., no help. Finally I realized that the Gateway guy had installed MSIE 5.5 instead of MSIE 5 which I had before. So I uninstalled 5.5., brought back 5, and presto no more problems. HOoray.

Talking Explorer locking
This may be o use to someone-

I had my explorer lock up on me for a day or so..Had no idea what it was so I closed some start up prgrams one at a time...I eventually discovered that POP STOPPER was the problem.

Seems I can't run POP UP STOPER without causing my exploer to lock up.

I have disabled POP UP STOPPER -Panicware.... Might be my computer but now I can open Exploere mutliple times.

If you are looking for MSCONFIG for Windows 2000 you can download at:

http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html

Follow the instructions. MSCONFIG works on my machine with operating system Windows 2000 Professional.

I'd use a different browser, like Firefox by Mozilla.
