Unhappy Windows 2000 safe mode problem.
I am using Windows2000 professional.
I am using IE and Mozilla .
Problem is:
I cant open some standard sites like microsoft, avg, msdn and some other antivirus sites.
Error is "Address Not Found" in Mozilla and "this page cannot be displayed" in IE.
Actions I taken to cure this problem:
>Installed windows XP on another drive of my PC to make sure that these sites still exists and firewall doesn't block this. Yes, I could open these sites without any problem from XP.
> Read a lot of forums and replies regarding this problem. I got the answer that this may due to some virus infection.
>I started to troubleshoot my windows 2000 professional. Pressed F8 when starting windows and selected SAFE MODE. Then the following message appeared in a blue screen

***STOP : 0*000000007B(0*EB81B84C,0*10000034,0*00000000,0*00000000) INACCESSIBLE_BOOT DEVICE

I restarted again and again but the same result obtained.
I used the command chkdsk with option /F to check and repair all the errors in all the drives. But the same result happens .

Please help me to solve this problem.

Hello prasobedappalli. I am not a techie but is there anything here that helps. Alternatively you could copy STOP : 0*000000007B ect and google them to see what you can see.

Hello prasobedappalli. Just googled inaccessible _boot and found this what I suggest is that you try using the full names one at a time.

The inability to access certain sites could be a possible virus problem.
You could post a HJT log, if possible, if you're concerned about that possibility.
Have you recently changed any hardware?
