Exclamation update.microsoft.com is google.com???
Ok so i have to xp computers one is home and one is pro i am having a problem with pro. i frist noticed this problem on my home computer when i made a search on google (using firefox) and clicked on one of the results 50% of the time it would redirect me to an ad. so i went into spybot s&d but it did not open. so i renamed the original .exe file to be spybot-SD.exe instaed of spybotSD.exe and then it started fine. then i tried to update but it said... "error retriving update into file." when i saw that i tried to go to spybots website (safer-networking.org) but it said that it could not connect so then i went over to A friends house and tested it there... the website is still up and running. so still at that friends house i used CMD to ping the website and got the ip address. back at home i typed in the ip address to safer-networking.org and... IT WORKED. but i still could not update using spybot so i downloaded and reinstalled spybot once and it still didn't update then i reinstalled it again and it worked and scanned and fixed a trojan horse (avg also found a trojan horse and it was moved to the virus vault). ^this was all on XP home^ then i loged on to my XP pro computer, tried to update spybot, AND GOT THE SAME ERROR!!! by this time i was going out of my mind i typed the ip address for safer-networking.org (using IE not firefox) and downloaded and reinstalled the program but it still cannot update. so i went to windows update (update.microsoft.com) and google pops up. im like wtf. but the thing about this update.microsoft.com google is it didn't just redirect me because it still has http://update.microsoft.com/ in the address bar AND it said in smaller letters "english" right under the google logo AND down where it says Advertising Programs - Business Solutions - About Google it also has another link named "go to google.com" that link takes you to the actual google.com. i also have an ipod touch (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!) when i use the wireless network we have on my ipod and try to go to update.microsoft.com it shows the same fake google page with update.microsoft.com in the address bar and on my ipod i still cannot get to safer-networking.org BUT on my XP home computer (which is connected to the same wireless network) i can easily get to safer-networking.com and update.microsoft.com. so i dont know what the heck is up now does my ipod have the same virus that my pro does??? i have no idea. can aanyone help me?
