Windows XP MC needs your help!
My emachines W3503 desktop has several issues that are causing alot of grief.

No sound coming from speakers. Yes they are plugged in. Checking if the sound card is working and testing the device reveal no problems.

Running SLOWLY, very slowly.

And most recently video went out on an online game application. Again, troubleshooting with windows showed no problems.

Last, I would like to say this has been progressive - things keep going downhill with this darn thing.

My various handles are on my profile and my email is this user name with att.net on the end.

Thank you for looking and thanks for the help!

Go here to download HijackThis 2.0.2, install it in its default location, restart your computer, start HijackThis and run a scan with it, save the resulting log in Notepad, then return here to your thread and copy-and-paste the entire log here.

The log will show us what's loading during startup and running in the background, and if any obvious infection is present.

How much RAM is in your computer? Your computer specs icon next to your username lists 385 MB, which is an incorrect number.

Right-click MY COMPUTER, then click Properties. What's the RAM amount listed in the General tab?

The EMachines site lists this desktop as having 512 MB of RAM, but its capable of supporting up to 2048 MB.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Right-click MY COMPUTER, click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager, then click the + in Sounds Video And Game Controllers.

What's listed under that heading?

Here is the support site for the EMachines W3503 desktop. You should save this site in your browser favorites list for reference to when needed.
