Registry Problems
Hi

I recently unplugged my PC and moved it to a different room. When I set it up again I was met with the message:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\windows\system32\config\system
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-Rom. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

I tried to use the recovery console to fix my issue but I got as far as selecting 1: C:\Windows before I got a Blue Screen with this message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

BAD_POOL_CALLER

there was some useless advice and then this technical infomation:

STOP 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, 0xC6A41000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Please Help!

I would open the case and check to make sure all cables/connectors are firmly seated (unplug and then re-plug), and make sure any PCI cards are firmly seated.

Are you certain that you've set the computer up properly in your new room? Obviously you aren't going to have much luck fixing the problem until the (apparent) cause has been sorted out.
