Hi,
That may help but I would suggest looking at the back, or on either front or back, for an ID printed in white right on the usual green circuit board itself....?
Or on a stickon label? Model number would be what is needed, not really a part number.
Or, at least the info found on the large chip on the modem board.
That model number relates to this modem:
Uploader Notes
Small chip on front of modem : HSP688T 0340DGEA78. P/N on front of modem: 100-00006-1R1 . Sticker on back: FM0-EL-000PCTEL
See if you can
find the chip ID on the chip itself.....HSP688T
Tell me, if your chip on your modem has anything different, post what it has on the chip.
And, if it is a PC-Tel, these generic drivers should work for XP:
http://www.conexant.com/support/file...re_Win2kXP.zip
You need to
Extract the files TO a folder you create, like in My Documents, make a new folder and call it Modem
Right click the file you download, and click Extract in that menu
Next, tell the extraction wiz where (the Modem folder in My Documents) you want them extracted TO> then go to the Modem folder, and see if there is a Setup.exe file and run that if you find it.
If not, open the Device Manager and double click the PCI Communication device (your unknown modem) and select Properties>Driver>Update Driver and guide the wizard to Modem folder....
Don't use the download unless you do have that HSP688T chip
