F is main hard drive.. Need to change to C.
Hi, This issue is causing some serious problems like installing software and doing all kinds of stuff. Every time I try to do that some type of error comes up saying insert Drive. What do I do?

Hi!

Has the drive letter recently changed, or has it always been F?

Use these instructions ONLY if the drive letter has been changed.

Are you saying that Windows is installed on the F drive?

If so, what is on the C drive?

Well, if it's installed on F, it's installed on F. You could change the drive letter, but I think that will likely cause more problems than it's going to solve. You can't just do it as simply as you would assign a drive letter to a non-system drive. It would probably be better to just reinstall, or leave it be if it's not too much trouble.

What sort of problems are you having installing software?

Sometimes when I have to put something on a certain drive it says I need to insert one that kind of thing. But I am still fiddling around with this so I will be trying stuff out.

I installed a second hard drive on my computer and my main one was switch to F. I used a program called maxtor MaxBlast. It lets you change the drive names without messing up your system.
