Solved: Reboot without the recovery CD ???
Hi there,
My system became corrupt, and I need to reboot!
I tried to do this only to find out, that the operation system recovery cd, given to me with the computer is for windows 2000! Not for XP pro.
Is there a way to reboot without that cd and still recovering my genuine XP professional??

Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks Norbert

By "reboot", do you mean turn off the machine and then turn it back on?

You'll need the XP CD to be able to re-install XP.
Did this system have XP on it when you got it? If so, you need to talk to whomever you got the system from to get the correct CD.

If you purchased this 2nd hand, the original owner may have upgraded it to XP, but choose to keep the XP disk to use on another system. He should have uninstalled XP first, as you can't use the same license on two PCs at the same time.

Are you aware of the New Signature Limitations?

Thanks for that! I will go back to the guy who sold me the system, and try to get the cd of him.
