Jaymie1989, Right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Settings tab change the Color Quality from 32 bit to 16 bit, click Apply/OK. Now go back and change it from 16 bit to 32 bit, click Apply/OK. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file and may correct your icon problem.

Jaymie1989, Which file extension icons are messed up? If you go into Folder Options>File Types tab and hilite the extension then click the Advanced button, then click the Change Icon button and choose the icon you want, hilite it and OK your way out.

Jaymie1989, Since this is the Windows XP forum I'm assuming that you're using XP. If you go into Folder Options>File Types tab and hilite HTML you should see an Advanced button near the bottom.

This is all I see:Solved: File Extension Icons-file-types.jpg

It does open in the right program, Well all does apart from the XML files.
Its just the icon images that are not working

I found the solutions

Via. http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/1566

Note:
Quote:
Please Note - Sometimes the Advanced button will not be present and so not allow access to the Change Icon option. This can occur when the default program for the file type has been changed. For example, if .DOC files are associated with OpenOffice Writer instead of MS Word. A restore button will be shown instead. Selecting Restore will change he association back to its default and will show the Advanced button. The icon can now be changed. To remake the previous file association use the Opens with: Change button; the new icon choice should remain.
Thanks for your help Tufenuf

This is now fixed and resolved
