Anytime.
I am glad to help.
Later we will see what the actual temps are.
See if the heat tube is at fault or if you need to clean up and repaste

System at idle. roughly 15% cpu usage with a few programs running.

Voltage CPU : 0.80 V
ACPI Thermal Zone : 59 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 1) : 64.2 °C
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 2) : 61 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk WDC WD1600BEVS-22RST0 : 49 °C

66% CPU usage and loop 6 on the pi calc:

Voltage CPU : 1.10 v
ACPI Thermal Zone : 83 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 1) : 84 °C
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 2) : 86 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk WDC WD1600BEVS-22RST0 : 48 °C

70% CPU and loop 16:

Voltage CPU : 1.10 V
ACPI Thermal Zone : 91 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 1) : 90 °C
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 2) : 93.5 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk WDC WD1600BEVS-22RST0 : 49 °C

loop 22, pi calc finished. 70% CPU:

Voltage CPU : 0.80 V
ACPI Thermal Zone : 89 °C
:
Processor : Thermal Diode
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 1) : 88.5 °C
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile (Core 2) : 89 °C
:
Hard Disk Monitoring : S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk WDC WD1600BEVS-22RST0 : 49 °C

The computer didnt crash this time, I think it was just the combination of the virus scan, and the pi calc...

are you using canned air to blow air all the way through the fins to clean the back side of the fins

No just wiping down what I can see then blowing air through them myself. Don't have compressed air.

Your temps are very high.
I am not sure of your cooling layout..i cant find any documentation.
On many you can see the cooling fins through the exhaust vent and you back blow through the fins to remove the lint from the back side of the fins.
On some models you can remove the bottom cover...for the ram access.
to get to the fan side of the fins.
You are running hot and thats whats shutting it down..
How much air is blowing out of the vent?
Same as when new?
if the air volume is high but the air isnt hot.then you have a heat tube problem.
Are you confident removing the bottom cover...not the bottom.
to see if there is access to the fins?

I found this picture...yours wont be hard at all to clean
http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images...-bluetooth.jpg

get a can of air........blow back through the exhaust vent holding the straw straight and about a quarter inch away.do this in several areas.

Dont bend the fins with the straw and be sure to blow straight or you can bend them.

Remove the cover that covers the fan and blow that area clean with air
Only use air for a few seconds at a time...to avoid condensate problems.

Its about a 10 minute job....piece of cake

dont drop anything in the unit.
Dont touch around on anything due to static electricity.
place a towel on the kitchen table,to stop from scratching the unit and you are ready.

Yea, I have no problem removing the bottom cover. I'll try that... Theres a constant airflow from the exhaust, but its light. I'll try blowing the dust n such out tomorrow. What else could be the problem is thats not it?

Its more than likely lint build up on the fins of the heat tube. Its very common.
After you get the fins cleaned up,you should be ok.
On occasion though this does not fix it.In that case everything has to be taken apart and cleaned up and repasted, and or a new heat tube, they can be pricey

Is the heat sink different than a heat tube? Is it difficult to replace?

http://www.chrosmack.com/items/item.aspx?itemid=3005994

thats all I've found.

They can be sometimes.
They usually dont go bad...but they do on occasion.
Usually a cleaning is all that is needed.
A heat tube-pipe is often referred to as the heat sink with laptops.

If you have a maglite you can hold it up against the bottom of the unit where the fan is and then look through the exhaust opening and see the lint build up on the fins...evidenced by not being able to see the fan itself.

If you have a hot laptop such as yours and the exhaust isnt hot ..but rather cool or just lukewarm, this is an indication of the heatpipe..not transferring heat..then it would need replacement
