i need some serious computer help
i switched off my pc and when i put it on i got the message

"when trying to update a password the return status the value provided as the current password is not correct"

after displaying this message the computer restarts and keeps coming up with this message. it wont let me go to safe mode or system recovery so i managed to get hold of an xp recovery cd from my mate but now i seem to have two windows xp home editions one that works but needs an activation key to work and one that gives me an error message.

Anyone know how to fix this to get my normal windows xp back

my pc is a hp windows xp home edition

My first thought would be your registry is corrupted and you need to restore it from a previous version. You can do this in the Windows Recovery Console. Other then that you can try using a program that resets or changes Widnows password but I won't go into that since it's considered hacking. I'd try a password reset first actually it has fixed a few issues like this for me in the past on customers machines.
