Slowed screen activity
I'm using XP on a Toshiba Satellite. Has anyone experienced a similar behaviour? When I click on an application from the desktop or Start menu I recieve the hour glass icon and the application loads slowly or fails. When the application is on the screen and I click on the task bar it may sometimes not respond or even make the clicking sound. Then I recieve a "Program is not responding message - End now or Cancel". It is clear that it's either the mouse or overheating but could be that the registry is in need of tuning. At other times bits of windows are suspended on the screen because they are out of sync with the mouse clicking. I have recently bought some equipment to cool down the unit whilst I am working because of the muggy temperatures. I am in Asia and it is quite 'balmy' in the evenings.

Furthermore when logging off this particular system I always get the "End program - b24" status window and it is difficult to actually turn off the computer. I am very busy but I'd like to gather some ideas how to correct these symptoms properly and maintain the computer.
