Cool Saving my Windows to ISO
Hello. ive come here today with hope to get a answer.

So i come here to see if you know something i dont

i started as a pc noob. years after now can code in meny langs.
Vb.net delphi c++ c.

But theres always one thing i wanted to do.

i want to save my windows i use now to a ISO file so i can reinstall it at that state so i don't have to format and start fresh. Understand?

So.. What im trying to say is.

I install a fresh copy of windows xp then i install the things i use the most
like themes programs etc. then i want to save it to a ISO so later on when i think its time to go back to my windows xp in a new state i can just install the windows i had before without installing a new copy and installing everything one by one.

Welcome to TSG. What you want is an imaging program such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost.

You can leave the Tech Guy forums any time you want if you are going to be that rude.

You were not clear on what you were trying to do. Nlite just makes a bootable install disc. You said you did not want to have to install again. By imaging the drive with Acronis you can recover your whole system within a couple of minutes depending on the size or the image.

I can pretty much guarantee you that I can recover from an Image of my hard drive quicker than you can install using a disc you made with Nlite.

So go nuts and do whatever you think you need to do. But being an arrogant jerk isn't the best way to start when posting on a new forum. Rick was even nice enough to start his post with a welcome message and you immediately shot him down.

If you want to match wits with any of us go right ahead. I am always a firm believer in picking on someone your own size. There are plenty of people on this forum that probably have forgotten more computer knowledge than you have learned in your entire life.

Well, with a post like that you'll be lucky to get anyone to answer any future posts of yours.

And since you have found your own answer, then I will happily close this one.

I would have been happy to do the honors, but my laptop battery died quickly.

Didn't know it was possible to get Squashman that riled up! Of course, I agree with him. I was starting to post earlier about nlite, but then realized that since you did not want to have to "install" additional stuff the disk image was a better solution for your total request.
