Email disappears
I am using Outlook 5.1.2600 Service pack 3 on Windows XP Pro.

I made a mistake and deleted the UNSURE folder. I put it back right away but when email comes in - I see it for a second and then it disapers. It does not show up in Spam or Junk Mail and nothing ever gets into UNSURE.

I am worried that I am missing some email.

Hi mis2ko

You are using Outlook 2003?

In Outlook 2003, click:
View > Arrange By > Current View > Messages
This setting will show ALL messages whether Read or Unread.

How are messages configured to move to the Unsure folder, do you have a Rule setup to move messages to the Unsure folder?

Yes I am using Outlook 2003 and followed your directions but it is checked at messages. When I click on Messages nothing happens.

I do not know how to set-up a Rule to move messages to the unsure folder.

Thanks!

What is the purpose of the Unsure folder? Why do you think deleting it has affected incoming mail?
The Unsure folder is not a default folder, it was created by you or another program.

I have no idea..mail used to show up there when it was "unsure". I deleted by accident and when I added it nothing ever shows up in it.

LOL.

Well, we need to know what it is for. Are you still using Spam Bully?

Is it possible that Spam Bully created the Unsure folder?
Did you ever go through the messages that would be captured in the Unsure folder?
If so, what type of messages were they? Spam?

I don't know - I think it's been there for a long time. I would check the folder every day...some spam, some not. Just like it is called UNSURE.

OK, I just checked out Spam Bully, there is an Unsure folder appearing on their website.

Let me look it over, I need to run some errands so it may be later tonight before I reply again.

I have installed the trial version of Spam Bully. So far, no messages have been directed to the Unsure folder. I am going to train Spam Bully a bit, and see if messages start to appear in that folder. Once that happens, I am going to try and duplicate what you did by deleting the Unsure folder and see what happens.

If you look at the Bayesian Filter settings what are your settings?

It is on the Spam Bully toolbar, click the drop down arrow for the Spam Bully 4 button, then select Options, Bayesian Filter tab.

My settings appear to have adjusted since I trained Spam Bully on a few messages and now I have messages in the Unsure folder. So I am not finished testing it yet.

Finished testing, yay!

I created four different Personal Folders (.pst files) and downloaded messages into each Personal Folder.
The first Personal Folder was the control, messages did not go into the Unsure folder for that Personal Folder until I started training Spam Bully.

The second Personal Folder, messages were moved into the Unsure folder based on the previous training.

With the third Personal Folder, I deleted and restored the Unsure folder, messages were moved to the Unsure folder based on the previous training. In fact, they were being moved into the Unsure folder while it was in the Deleted Items folder.

The fourth Personal Folder, I deleted the Unsure folder and emptied the Deleted Items folder. Spam Bully recreated the Unsure folder.

Based on the above testing, I would say that you have trained Spam Bully so that it is currently able to recognize your Spam and Good messages.
Your Unsure folder was most likely empty for awhile and that is why you deleted it in the first place.

Hope that helps set your mind at ease.

These are my current settings after training Spam Bully a bit more, **note Spam Bully is changing the filter settings, not me. I still have messages in the Unsure folder.
