Question I need help from Windows XP SP3 users
Alright, so, I have tried searching All Engines, IE every search engine and some. And I have not been able to find one web site, including Microsoft that has backup files for Windows Explorer and the Shell files.

Is there a XP SP3 user that can archive the Explorer and Shell files for me? It would be much appreciated, as I have some bugs that are very annoying.

Here are some screens.

Explorer problem

Shell / Explorer problem. I don't know.

I would love to, but I don't have CD's currently to backup my php projects, and all my layout projects, as well as music, movies, and the lot.

This is why I am looking to fix the problem by restoring default files, since, whatever MSStyle editor, or icon editor, or whatever, damaged mine.

Go to Start > Run and type

sfc /scannow

Have your installation CD handy. The SP3 files are stored on your hard drive, and the System File Checker knows where to look.

It will take it a while to run, and it won't give you any feedback other than a progress bar, but let run until it finishes and disappears.

You need to get your data backed up. If there is a system problem or even a malware infection, you could lose everything. CDs and DVDs are cheap compared to the effort and cost of trying to recover data.

I agree. I do need to backup. Any suggestions on a good free program?

Also, I am trying the file checker now.

Just make sure that you try booting with the recovery CD. The backup is useless if it cannot be detected and accessed by the recovery media.
