Deleting all data question
Hello, I wanted to clean out my harddrive and delete all the data, I used the windows XP install disk and went to the installation part and then deleted all the partitions on the harddrive and now it only has unallocated space.

I heard the data is still there unless you overwrite it? Or is that wrong?

And if I had to install a new OS on the HDD to get the files back, wouldn't that overwrite it anyway?

Thanks

Why didn't you continue on(after deleting all partitions) by creating a new C partition and then formatting it in the NTFS file system and then doing a fresh install of XP?

What is your intent with that computer? Are you keeping it or giving it away or what?
