Old computers can't see new one
I just bought and installed a new WinXP desktop. I am able to see my other (Old) WinXP desktop from my new computer (I used "add network place") but I am unable to add my NEW computer from my OLD desktop using "add network place". What should I do?

Make sure that both computers are in the same workgroup and try again.

Also, make sure your firewall is configured to allow the connection.

Firewall?
Workgroups are the same. Still no luck. I have no idea how to find or adjust the firewall. What do I do to allow my old XP computer to see the new one?

Norton is a persistent pest, so simply turning it off often isn't enough. You may need to completely remove it. First run the Add/Remove Programs wizard, then use the Norton Removal Tool to make sure everything is gone.

Also, disable the Windows Firewall.

Then run the Network Setup wizard.
Start > My Network Places > Setup a home or small office network

Curly...Mystery continues
Curly

Thank-you for your patience. This is getting weid. I was able to get help from Dell in setting the Properties of my C drive. I checked "Share This folder on the network". The workgroups are now the same. And now...I can see the computer name from my inbound computer but it STILL won't grant me access, even though I changed the properties of the C drive. Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Fooling with Norton helped. I got access. Thank-you so much...
