this thread was already posted b4 but i need a bit more help, this is because the laptop keeps restarting right after i choose the option (safe mode or last good known configuration, etc.)
im not a wiz at computers so you guys need to give instruction for a mediocare at computers.

im talking about the response Staurt wrote where go to the boot and pres r to run some scan, on mine pressing r doesn nothing so i was hoping you could help me out

So it restarts whether you are in Safe Mode or starting in Normal mode....and do you have the XP Operating System disc?

im sorry i forgot about the thread, but i got tired of it and just formatted the laptop , it started working fine ( i think something was wrong with the hardrive, but it seemed to work out =S)

If you don't like or have patience to troubleshoot, Reinstalling windows will your best option. Normally if a computer is restarting you will have three options so far.

1. The problem was caused by a recently installed or uninstalled software.
2. The problem was caused by a recently hardware install or uninstall.
3. Spyware, Virus, or Malware problem.

yea im pretty sure it was virus tho, cuz it worked out fine after re installling windows
