Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

It hangs up at least once in the day but more often when I start watching a video online or a dvd. Is it related to the graphics card? Also this is a recent thing, didn't happen in the past.

Have you (by chance) disabled Windows Firewall recently? If so, you may want to look into this Hot Fix:

KB889320 - Computer Browser service stops and Event ID 7023 is logged after Windows Firewall service disabled

Yes, my Windows firewall was disabled but not recently. I will let you know whether the hotfix worked.

I tried installing the hotfix but was unsuccessful. It gave a message that the cryptographic service needs to be running, but on checking in the Admin services, it was running. So don't know what's wrong. Is there any other way to fix this other than the hotfix?
