Yo!
I just bought a laptop (
Acer eMachines E725) ofc it had vista on it :@
So I tried to install xp... What happens? BSOD! searching on google and find out that I have to change SATA driver to IDE. did so and I could install XP.. BUT when I come to patition part, it only says I got 130GB space... I shall have 320 GB :@ What's wrong?

Hi

Did you install using an old version of XP, there was I believe a 137GB limit in the early versions of XP. If you upgrade to SP3 then you should be able to see the whole drive however if the drive was partitioned to only 137GB you may need to use an app such as partition magic to extend the partition into the extra space.

The other options would be to create a second partition with the additional space or to create a slipstreamed version of your XP CD and re-install.

Cheers

Hi pcenrich and Welcome to TSG... You too BLT. BLT is correct about early versions of XP having partition size limits, but it's pretty simple to fix. Just upgrade to at least SP2 (I recommend SP3) and then you can download and use a great little free partitioning tool called Easeus Partition Manager. Then you can change the size of your C:\ partition to whatever you choose.
