BSOD Bad Pool Header
I've always been good enough with computers to solve most of what I come up against, but I am no where near able to figure this out.

I've been trying to download WoW since last night, I went to systemrequirementslab.com as well as did my own check to make sure I meet the basic requirements, and I infact meet all but one of the recommended requirements. I have Windows XP Pro, SP3, and everytime I put the disc in, it reverts to "STOP 0x00000019 Bad_Pool_Header", and doesn't let me do anything else.

I know it's nerdy, but I'd really like to be able to download this game and play it, but I need to know what I have to fix first. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you are not using a legit vendor's disk -- we cannot help you. Quite likely if you have downloaded some torrrent file and burned it as an ISO -- it is infected or the disk is bad.

I am using a legit disc, I bought it at gamestop. It's not a download, or a copy. That's why I think something in my computer is acting up when I try to install it.

Ok, but your post states "trying to download WoW" -- some people do say "download" when they mean "install"

It's possible the disk is bad, especially if you are not having problems with any other programs or disks, but let me have a look at the minidumps which should be created for the BSODs

I can run a debugging utility on the dump files if you do this:

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to c:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder. *this assumes 'c' is your boot drive, if it is not, subsitute accordingly
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a non Microsoft driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

If you do not see any minidumps, be sure you are not using any cache cleaner such as CCleaner. Also run sysdm.cpl and select Advanced > Startup and Recovery. Make sure "small memory dump" is the one chosen under "write debugging information" and the location should be %systemroot%\minidump
