Red face Image changes when change the file name
Hai Guys,

I face one stupid problem with .jpg images

I have a system installed with Windows Xp SP2.

In my D Drive i have a folder named 'img'. In that folder have total 5 images. please find the that five names below

1) Apple.Jpg
2) Banana.jpg
3) Orange.jpg
4) Fruitscrush.jpg
5) Pear.Jpg

Above all files have there respective images, means apple.jag have apple image like that.

Suppose, if i change the Banana.jpg as Banana1.Jpg and then change the Apple.jpg as Banana.jpg

The file name is changed and also image also be changed with Banana.
But, when double click on Recently changed file name it shows Apple image.
In my system have no virus.

I can't understand what happend in that folder. This problem is only for that folder.
All are working fine.

Please help me....

Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Bhanu

This is a tough one .. with only 2 cups of morning coffee .. so far.
I was going to add .. are you looking at the Thumbnail of the file and/or the Contents of the file.

I can see where there may be a problem where they don't agree.

Select the Thumbnail(s) .. Right click on the selection(s) .. and choose > Refresh Thumbnail.

What happens if you change the file name .. to a file name you don't have in your computer ??

If it were me .. I'd also try .. (one at a time) .. copy the file to a new folder and rename it in the new folder.

What you describe here is impossible.
Please do a screen capture and post it so we can see what you're describing.
Thanks,
Jim
P.S.: Actually my comment "Too funny" was of the Homer animated gif.

If you don't laugh a little when you have PC issues, this is what happens.

Better do this

Before

or this could happen

which could lead to this

and eventually to this

But all of that is better than winding up like this

Back on track...

Try deleting the thumbs.db file after the rename.

You will need to be able to see system files.
