Exclamation Solved: WinLogon crash when I log in to XP
I have a very annoying problem that appears to happen totally randomly: when I log in to XP, I get a winlogon.exe crash followed by a BSOD.
This does not happen always, but roughly 50% of the time. It doesn't make any difference whether it's from a cold or warm reboot; it happens with about the same degree of regularity and unpredictability.
TIA for your help!

go to C:\Windows\Minidump
Copy the .dmp files in there and zip them up, attach the zip file in your next post using the "Go Advanced" button, then click the paper clip icon to attach the zip.

"Probably caused by : memory_corruption "

I would run a memory tester.

It could also be a driver issue, but test the memory to rule it out.

http://www.memtest.org/

Download the prebuilt ISO, burn it to CD as an Image, boot from that CD and let the test run for a couple of hours, see if it finds errors.

Thanks for that!
I ran the memory test and it didn't find any errors, so I thought this had turned up a blank.
But ever since I ran the memory test, not only has that WinLogon crash disappeared, but a whole host of other instabilities on my computer appear to have cleared up!
I have no idea what that memroy test did, but it appears to have blown away some dust on some component somewhere, and my computer is back to its old, functional self!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
