Solved: MCI Command Handling Window
Each time I try to reboot my PC I receive the "End Program - MCI Command Handling Window." When I click on "End Now", the window simply starts over again. I have to do this several times before the PC will shut down. Can anyone help me out on this?
I have a Dell Dimension E520 desktop PC, 2.13 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 64 kb primary memory cache,2048 kb secondary memory cache, 2046 mb installed memory and 320.06 gb usable hard drive capacity.

The Media Control Interface (MCI) provides standard commands for playing multimedia devices and recording multimedia resource files. These commands are a generic interface to nearly every kind of multimedia device. Possibly you have a multimedia application running (e.g. winamp does not unload even after closing the winamp program itself).

It could also be caused by old security software not properly uninstalled.

Or, it might be a malware issue.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

Well, I can't see any traces of an old security software not properly uninstalled, or anything else suspicious in your log.

You'll have to search through your multimedia applications. Perhaps video and audio driver updates?

MCI Command Handling Window
Thanks Phantom010 for your help. I haven't found the problem yet but will keep trying. Eventhough my problem has not been solved, I would like to remove this from the forum to provide space for other's questions. How do I remove this?
