Installing XP Pro onto a vista laptop
i have an Ei system 3103, also known as a uniwill L51II3 which is running ridiculously slow with vista as the OS.
when i run the xp disk from dead, it loads the setup all the way up until it says at the bottom "Starting windows" at which point i get an error screen saying there is a problem at an address 00000000 or something similar
i have looked into this all over the internet and have been told i have a SATA hdd, and xp doesn't have the drivers to read the disc and so cannot install.
it then goes on to say i must download the scsi/raid drivers for my motherboard (hannstar j mv-4) and when i run the xp setup, press F6 when prompted to install scsi/raid drivers.
i have tried this and it turns out it will only read from a floppy drive, which most laptops/computers do not have anymore.
does anyone know a way i can install these drivers (im not even sure i have found the right ones), or if thee is a way around this so i can put xp on my machine. its been stressing me out for weeks now.
thanks
