Here is what you need given you have a windows XP disc. This article explains how to install windows XP from a USB drive.

Sorry spitfire there is no windows disk with this netbook as it has no cd drive.
i have 2 other pc with xp but of course they have individual recovery disks for each system. i do not have a usb cdrom only a 2 gb and a 4gb usb pen drive.

i am assuming from what i have read if i could just find a way to boot from a usb i could then get it to repair itself?
