Exclamation Ie 8 will not download. Ghost version of sp3- going insane.
I cannot download Internet Explorer 8. I cannot find and remove Service Pack 3 from my computer. I contacted Microsoft and they cannot fix the problem remotely either. The "My Computer" tab states the computer is operating on SP3, but it does not show up on the Control Panel ANYWHERE. Neither does any form of IE. When I try to download IE 8, the "checking for malicious hardware" fails as well as "installing Internet Explorer". I have tried all of the options I have seen online to fix both problems. I do not want to do a system restore on this computer... is there a way to fix this problem? i.e.: remove the "ghost" version of SP3 and overcome the failed download of IE8? Thank you in advance for your help. ~C.S.
