My husbands computer has trojans, and all kinds of malicious files, I need a reboot disk and the HP website is no help. Is there any other way to get one? Or any other way to get rid of these viruses?

Its a compaq presario v6000 and has windows xp home.

I would suggest contacting HP for the discs.

For some computer models, the link to order recovery discs is not available on the product page. For those models, you can order HP recovery discs by clicking the Contact HP link at the top-left of this web page and HP Customer Care will assist you. You must have your product number and serial number to order.

Otherwise for help with removing the viruses and such, I would suggest that you request a moderator to move this thread to the Malware removal section.

If you decide to try to clean any malware we can have you start a new thread in Malware Removal forum and Close this one....or, if you want to get Recovery disks and reinstall the whole computer, that is fine.

I would try the HP first as I have seen them cost only $17

and the other place is around $27
