Possible virus - mouse commands inoperative
Not exactly inoperative, but I have to click several times before the command 'takes'. I have XPSP3. On all applications, Yahoo mail/card games ; even moving the cursor within text takes several clicks.

Here is system spec : Win XP home SP3.
Computer : AMD athlon, 6 x 2 dual core processor, 4400+2.31 ghz
Physical address extension.

I changed the mouse batteries with no effect.

Spyware doctor ; cc cleaner ; avg, not found any threats.

Also, when i click on the left hand down arrow to scroll through stuff, it scrolls down itself even when I release the mouse. (I had this last year, but it fixed itself.)

Does anyone know how I can get a diagonosis of the problem?

best

I would suggest plugging in a wired mouse, usb or ps/2. If it works normally then it's time to replace your wireless mouse (or just continue to use the wired one).

Press Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time to bring up the task manager. In the lower left corner it should list processes. How many are running?
