Can't get to BIOS or beyond.
Once upon a time I had XP on this computer. It's an MSI mobo. I put in a sata hard drive. All that comes up is the mem test. Neither "del" to get into BIOS or F8 works. I thought in might be the hard drive. I put a new one in. Same thing. I thought it might be the power source. I put in a different one. No difference. I tested the power source. All leads are getting juice.

I drummed on del, on F8 and on F5. No response. I bought 68 diagnostic programs from Ed Jablonski, but I can't get it to boot up beyond the mem test.

I changed the jumpers on the board; I also pulled the battery for a minute or so. Same same. I'm thinking about putting in a different board.

Any suggestions leading to a recovery would be welcome, very welcome.
Could it be the mobo is shot? Or is there a way that I could get to BIOS, put all 3 boot up choices to CD, and then perhaps be able to install a fresh copy of either Ubuntu or XP Pro.
