Cannot install an Office 2003 update on XP
Trouble installing Office 2003 SP3. First error message was concerning a missing SKU011.CAB. I went on line and got the following instructions to solve this problem:
• Regedit (start menu -> run -> type regedit)
• Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 11.0 -> Delivery
• There should be only 1 directory under Delivery, which is your DownloadCode (E.g 90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9). Select that directory. On the right side of the screen, right-click on CDCache. Change the value to 0.

Then I tried to install it again. I got the following message:
Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\MSOCache\All
Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\PA561401.CAB.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I couldn't find the file in C drive but that doesn't mean it isn't in there. What are my next moves?

If you go into C:\Windows\Software Distribution>Downloads and delete everything, then go to Windows Updates or, better still, the MS site, you might get a better download with all the missing bits

Sorry, it didn't install. This is the message I got:

Error creating process C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\TEMP\IXP000.TMP\ohotfix.exe
Reasons access is denied.

I went to Control Panel, Add or delete programs. There is a listing for Office 2003 SP3 but no size nor any way to delete it.

Any more suggestions for me?

Uninstalling and reinstalling it will only result in the same flawed download or other problem next time the update appears. You could try elevating the Permissions for that folder so the Access Denied is less likely to happen. Right click the folder and go to Sharing and Security and tick the "Share this folder etc" box - that may help. You need first to open up tjhe folder to view in Tools>Folder Options>View and tick Show Hidden Files and Folders" then untick Hide all Protected System Folders".

Before that you can uninstall it using revo uninstaller, google it to find. It will delete those invalid entries in add and remove programs.
