Slow network printer in XP one one computer only
Hi there,
I have spent days and days on this problem and am hoping someone out there can help me. I have an Epson Workforce 600 network printer, connected wirelessly to my home network. Computer #1, which is XP, is having no problems using the printer normally. Computer #2, which is XP Media Center edition, can print to the printer, but it is very slow. If I go into printer properties, it literally takes about 30 seconds for the printer properties screen to pop up on the screen.

I am wondering if it might be something remedied by this Microsoft Hotfix, but of course the Hotfix is "temporarily unavailable." Here's the link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970048

Here are the things I've tried on computer #2:

1. Uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers, rebooting each time, many times.
2. Went into printer properties, then ports, and selected "RAW" vs "LPR" under port configuration.
3. Created a new user profile on computer #2, did not help.
4. Deleted all unused/old printers.

Microsoft Word times out waiting for the printer so it's more than just an annoyance - I don't have access to this printer on computer #2.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Is computer #2 also connected wirelessly and if so what is the signal strength?

Nope, both computers are connected via wired LAN.
