OEM Programs
Hello!
Does anyone know how to reinstall OEM installed programs that ended up getting removed during a total Operating system wipe and restore?
The program I'm referring to is Nero Smart Start, which had been on my computer when I bought it. I recall successfully finding and reinstalling this program before, but I forgot how to access it.

You'd probably need any CDs that shipped with your computer.... you might also have gotten a CD or DVD burner drive and got the Nero suite with the drive?

If it was part of the software that was preinstalled by the manufacturer, unless your computer has a backup utility that you use to REinstall Applications and Drivers you might be out of luck. Most OEMs include either separate CDs or a utility on the computer that can selectively replace any of the softwares.

If you post the exact make and model we can try to help you further.

If you find that Nero CD, it's a suite of several separate programs, and you can run that and install just Smart Start if that is all you need to reinstall but it won't burn disks or anything.....it is not the Nero Burning ROM

I've ususally seen Smart Start with the Nero Express versions....6, 7, and up

Hello Byteman! Thanks for responding!
Though I did purchase Nero Photo Show 5 Deluxe a while back, I do not have any dics of any other Nero Products. Also, I don't think the manufacturer of my computer included any suite with that particular feature of a suite. However, that particular program that came with my computer did have the capacity to copy and burn CD's and DVD's.
Also, I did not get a seperate CD to replace programs.
There may be a utility on my computer, or may have been prior to my recent total wipe and restore of the operating system. But if there is, I wasn't able to locate it in my efforts.
My computer is an e-machine- Model# T6524. I bought it in 2005.
As I kind of alluded to, I actually stumbled across a way to reinstall that OEM program before, but I forgot where I got access to do it from.
It seems that in the process I needed to put the System Recovery CD in, but when I looked in it this evening nothing jumped out.
I also looked in the Control Panel for an in-road, but wasn't able to find one. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! Larry Tonn

Hi,
I did not see any other Nero program so the one you spoke of must be what the Smart start was from.....
Your writing is not very clear- either the Nero Photo program was something you bought and added or it came with the eMachine new- I
am not quite sure from your writing which....

In any event you should be able to put back Smart Start....just put the Nero CD in the drive and when pops up with the install screen
look for something along the lines of "Install one application from a menu"

Or, you may be offered a choice to *Repair or *Modify

and then see a choice to install just one part of the PhotoShow 5

OR_ from Add/Remove/Change Programs in your Control Panel,,,,

When you click to highlight Nero PhotsShow 5 you may be offered the choice of *Repair or *Modify then

Here's some info for you............... In case what you are missing was from a pre-loaded software like you are saying, and you need to use the Recovery CD and cannot find how to get to the proper spot.......

Maybe you have need of the user guide and driver downloads as well, so I will post that site here

http://www.emachines.com/support/pro...ktops&subcat=T Series&model=T6524

Download the http://downloads.emachines.com/userg..._HW_ref_en.pdf

It is an enhanced system user guide! with nice graphics to guide you

I have also included a screen capture of Page 135 just scroll in that page area...it may not be exactly page 135 in the PDF file you will see what I mean....

This is in Chapter 11

The method uses the Emachine Recovery or Restore Disk(s)
