Wink 32-bit Application running slower on a 64-bit machine
hey,
i am a constant user of Adobe Premiere Pro, and i normally used it on my 32 bit installation of Windows XP. but when i installed a 64-bit version of Windows XP and ran Premiere, it lagged. badly.

any ideas?

something tells me that it is because it's running in 32-bit compatibility mode...

an extract from part of the adobe website:
"After optimizing and architecting three versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects for 64-bit systems, Adobe has decided that future versions of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects software will offer native support for 64-bit operating systems. Because 64-bit operating systems offer superior performance, future releases of these products will not be supported on 32-bit operating systems."
that leads me to believe, as they said 'Future versions of Adobe Premiere Pro...'

yea.

something also tells me that the only way around it until they come out with CS5 (oh geez, the 5th one ) is to install 32-bit windows XP

opinions? i've sided with installing 32 bit.
