I see you have asked this on another forum HERE.

In your processes list, it shows as rundll32.exe.

Look into your Startup list if anything similar appears.

I don't think you quite understood what I was asking.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Open the Misc Tools section.

Click on Generate StartupList log.

The log will be opened in Notepad. Copy and paste it in your next post.

Also,

Run HijackThis again.

Click on Open The Misc Tools section.

Click on Open Uninstall Manager...

Click on Save list...

Save the text file to the desktop.

Copy and paste the log (from Notepad) in your next post.

After,

Run HijackThis again and Run select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

No personal files will show in your logs. This tool is used regularly on many computer help forums, including this one, all over the Web.

As an example, look at this thread:

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp...-ome-page.html

If you feel like it, you can delete your username from entries showing it, like in the following example:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\HijackThis.exe

It shouldn't cause your Display Properties to open but it is related to your NVIDIA graphics card driver, which can be accessed from your Display Properties. Just as a test:

Click on Start > Run > type msconfig

Under the Startup tab, uncheck NvCplDaemon.

You can always recheck it at the next restart if you really need it (although it's not normally needed at Startup).

I see you have CCleaner installed on your computer. Have you been using the registry cleaner option?

Here's a workaround that should disable your Display Properties. Save the attached reg file to your desktop. Unzip it and double-click on it to merge it to your registry.

Reboot.

To enable them back in case you need them, simply click on Start > Run > type regedit

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

In the right hand pane, double-click on the DWORD Value NoDispCPL and change the value from 1 to 0.

Let me know if it solves your problem.
