Solved: Backgrounds will not display
I have been trying to solve this problem for years now, with no success.

When I open any internet browser, the background colors or images are never displayed. It is always white. I have never once seen a background color or image on any website on this computer. I recently tried to change my desktop background to a solid color, but no matter what color I select the desktop background simply turns white. This is strange because images will display ok on my desktop as a background. It is only the solid plain colors which will not. This problem affects other applications too. When I use chat programs for instant messaging or go to chatrooms, I cannot get my text to display any color.

Please please help me with this. I simply cannot find any other information about this strange problem.

Try this...
I found this on another site and it worked for a similar problem:

Open the Windows Control Panel.
Open Accessibility Options.
Click on the Display tab.
Make sure the checkbox beside Use High Contrast is unchecked.

Please let me know how it worked for your problem to aid in helping others.

I'm so glad it worked for you! Your gratitude is enough payment...no money required. Tell your friends about this site and maybe we can help others.

P.S. If you would really like to support this site (not me) please click on the Donate button at the top of the page and read. That's the way I got started here. Someone helped me, I donated to the site, then became a volunteer to help others.
