HI guys!!!

i am using a intex lan card model no: IT-584....
the problem is that the first time i install the drivers it works fine but evry subsequent restart wen i try to connect to net i get this "ERROR 797 modem not found"....i dont have any other software using the ethernet so i guess the port is free............
the drivers crashes after reboot, i hav to install the drivers every time........

plzz guys need ur help........

Uninstall the drivers and shut the computer down. Remove the card and boot the computer. once your in windows shut the system down again. Take an eraser and burnish the contacts on the card, make sure there is no debris on the contacts and install the card in a “different” PCI slot, make sure it seats tight and boot the computer. Install the drivers. I would also update the drivers for the card.

thanx for the help for the error...............it worked

but a new thing has cropped up in network connections folder in control panel
it now also displays "local area conn 2 to server" under Internet gateway

it wasnt earlier there..................what is it???is it harmful
