Angry XP doesn't recognize video file
Tried opening a video file that was changed from MSWMM in Movie Maker
to wmv. Previous files opened when I changed them to WMV. This is
what I get when I try to open file: "Unrecognized format for 'D:\Documents and Settings\(name of file).wmv'". Can anyone help?

Sounds like something went wrong during the format change, the file header is most likely corrupt. I don't think that can be fixed. Do you have another copy of the original file? Try converting it again.

What program are you using to open the file?.

Question XP doesn't recognize file
Thanks for your reply. The video was created in movie maker. I changed the file from.mswmm to .wmv in order to add the clips to other clips
saved in a moviemaker project. I tried to open the video file in both
windows media player and vlc media player. Neither worked. the strange
thing is that I have an earlier video file with same characteristic as those
that are rejected, that opens up. What do you think?

Thanks again
