My sound isn't working.
Hi, my sound isn't working and I have tried re-wiring everything and making sure everything is plugged in but still no luck. I tried installing some drivers but it keep on crashing my computer (tried 3 times). When i go to control panel and audio and sound devices nothing is their but I have a speaker plugged in, that means it is a driver issue. Can you please help me this. Thanks!

First right click your speaker Icon and open Volume control
and make sure your sound is not muted. Located on your lower right.
If you don't have a speaker Icon go to the Control Panel and check your sound
Windows XP
See if your sound has been stopped in Services Under
Windows Audio.
Start - Control Panel - Open Administrative Tools - Open Component Services - Click Services (Local) and Scrowl down the list to Windows Audio to see if it says - Started. If stopped
Left click Windows Audio and click restart. -
Or
Right click Windows Audio - left click Properties - Left click Start
If the above doesn't work, go to control panel and open System Icon -
Hardware Tab - Device Manager - Click the + Plus sign for Sounds.......... -
Right click Realtek AC 97 (Or whatever Sound you have) - Left click - Update Driver.
To update you will need the CD that came with your computer
Or go on the Internet to download the drivers for your sound.
Find what sound your using. All Programs - Accessories -
System Tools - System Information.

Yeah it looks like a driver issue. You could try what haycg said but what I did when I had this issue is go to the manufacturers site and going to a support section. It will probably then ask for you're model, so select that, then try looking for a downloads section, you should find a compatible driver there.
Hope it helps.

Sure I will team view with you, just PM/reply your details and I will connect in about 5 mins.

EDIT: If you want me to team view then could you please hurry up, as I can't be online for too much longer.
