XP Taskbar Stuck in Classic mode
Taskbar Repair Tool Plus May work for some things, but it does NOT fix an XP Taskbar stuck in Classic mode - and I even paid the $5.00 to open up that repair option.
I am betting it has something to do with a registry entry somewhere - but where and which one??? All files that have to do with it have been replaced from the Install disc, plus a repair (both ways) has been done on the system, still no joy.

Just the taskbar? Or is all of Windows? Go to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes Is the Luna folder there and it's content?

To restore Luna go here ---> Luna fix

Yes, Lance, JUST the Taskbar! I have been toying with this on and off for the last 6 months - ran several Repairs - ALL the LUNA Files and folders are there and NOT corrupted - been thru all this at least a dozen times previously. And, as I said, have tried ALL the Kelly's Korner fixes, including the one I paid $5.00 for, and still nothing wants to work.
Everything else works just fine - I can change back and forth from XP scheme to Classic Scheme, can change everything in advanced Tabs, the ONLY thing is the TASKBAR ITSELF - it REFUSES to display the XP Style colors (Blue/Green) and shape - JUST the CLASSIC Shape and Gray color........

Tufenuf, Thanks.
However, I have been there also and tried that one too.
I guess I better reiterate that I have tried everything I have ran across for the last 6 months on all forums on the web that dealt with this particular problem - and nothing that I have found worked. That TASKBAR is STUCK, and I mean Really STUCK in Classic. If I ever find out what the fix is, I will post it everywhere I have been, because I know there are others out there with this same problem that have just flat given up on it. I do for a while, but then it really bugs me and I start over again, thinking I will find someone who can shed some different light on this thing........
It is to the extent that I would pay Microsoft for the fix, except I really think I would be wasting my time and money, because I seriously doubt if they could fix it - and they are the ones who made it to start with....
I am not trying to be cynical here, just factual, and not intending to hurt any Microsoft techs feelings, but, if there was a fix for this, it would have already been published on their website - because it is a doosie!!!!!

Same on your second Post, Tufenuf, like I said, it is ONLY the Taskbar itself, everything else is fine and changeable. The Themes service is running fine.
