Win XP Pro boot will not go to recovery from CD boot
Hi
BEGINNER at work, so whoever answers please step by step
I got the blue screen with error message 0x00000024 etc. followed another threat to boot from my win xp cd. did all I could understand to do with del F2 and so on but when I start up using F8 and Win loads I am supposed to press "r" to get into "recovery console". Win starts and I press "r" and it continues to load and goes straight into loading win xp pro. than gets stuck trying to exmaining 338171 MB Disk 0 at ID 0 on bus 0 etc...I have turned it off and repeated all steps but it gets stuck and does not go into recovery or out of examining. Not that I would know what to do next anyway. Just want to start my computer but no avail.

Just now it did get a screen allow me to choose "r" and I did. But it went straight back to examining disk and got stuck. I never reached the console or got comand to enter chkdsk etc.
Does this make sense? Anybody can help?
