what do you use this computer primarily for? ex:

gaming
web/email
programming
watching movies/music
etc etc ...

you may not even need two monitors, this seems like overkill unless you've got a good reason to need two of 'em.

Thank You
How did you make the CD? Did you burn it as an image?

Standalone ISO Burner (Be sure to check the "Finalize" box.)

in fact, i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the link to the "Standalone ISO Burner" is/contains malware. go with imgBurn, you will NOT be disappointed. and its free and open source to boot!

When the computer crashed I had just checked my e-mail, and answered an instant message from a friend, I left the room for a couple of minutes, came back, the computer was frozen; shut it down and it wouldn't start, as I described. Earlier in the day I was running graphics programs like every day: Photoshop, Autocad, and the like. I had no problems.

I use 2 monitors when I design, I create or view IGES files on one monitor, and use the other for Autocad or what ever other project I am working on.

You will need to test your memory.

i formally recommend this guy, don2993, as a candidate for the computer darwin award. with the way you have treated your system, consider yourself extremely lucky it lived as long as it did.

its the equivalent of smashing your wife/gf's face in with a baseball bat every single day and then expecting her to stick around and love you. but, amazingly, some women (and some systems) will.

My girlfriends memory is intact, the baseball bat seems to have worked to my benefit. My computer on the other hand is not responding the way that I hoped it would, I will try to copy one of the memtest programs again in one of the ways that you suggested. Are there any other ways to test the memory, or is there something else I should try?

Thank You

If you have 2 sticks of memory take one out and try....then take that one out and just try the other one....or try it with other memory that is compatible with the MB.

You have to burn the Memtest as an ISO /image file.......PowerISO will do that automatically for you......

Here is the memtest file...unzip it and put it in PwerISO or similar and burn to CD...put the CD in the drive and boot from CD on boot-up..either by pressing a key for boot options on startup or going onto Bios and set the CD-Rom as first in boot order Save and Exit.
