The last time this append to me i used the small jumper on the mother board it looks the same as the small plastic jumpers on the back of the hard drives, it sits on two of the three pins just move across to cover the opposite unused pin and center one

Its the Xp password not the bios password.. The motherboard jumper resets the bios password only. The XP password is in the Windows registry and System.

I don't think we can help with passwords...even if a legit reason ....here...as we have no way to prove true or not.

Sorry about this but taking Megabites advice. I have decided, thinking of the reputation of this forum and my personal reputation on it, that I cannot help.
Hope you will appreciate the position.
If you wish to look at Microsoft - forgotten XP password, they do offer guidance.

You gotta wonder if anyone bothers to read the forum rules when they join. We get a request like this on a weekly basis if not more.

Ok first of all I dont appreciate the implication of being stupid because "you have to wonder if anyone reads the forum rules"
I also dont appreciate the implication that I am lying. This is my computer I just got it and it is password protection when you try to get into safe mode and I cant get into the computer. All I want to know is if there is a way around that password. No need to be snappy Squashman. Thats ok though Ill go to the site I usually use where they actually want to help people without all the accusation.

I think the message about the forum rules was aimed at me , not you.

At what point did I say you were lying? Nor did I imply or specifically say you were stupid. I just made a general comment wondering if anyone reads the forum rules..

In case you come back to read this thread again, I will post the rule here for you to read and maybe you will better understand why we don't assist with password problems.

Quote:
Passwords - Please do not ask for assistance with forgotten passwords and/or bypassing them. As there is no way to verify the actual situation and/or intentions, no assistance will be provided and any such threads will be closed.
It is unfortunate you feel the way you do. I don't make the rule and I don't enforce the rule. I have to live by the rules of this forum or my account will be banned. I have to much time invested into this forum for my account to be banned.

Sorry you feel the way you do. Hope you come back if you have any further issues.

I feel a bit of a idiot as i did not think about the implications of perhaps some one or any one not owning the pc that they are trying to get into, although it is more than likely a perfectly honest problem most of the time, I hope that shauna 2415 manages to solve his problem ok, As for the rules i think that in a panick situation and being a new member it is easy to rush in and not read all the rules etc, good luck to him any way.

Ok how about this. Why didn`t you go to the site you usually use in the first place? Since this is what you say you are going to do now since no password help is available here. May be it`s because you already went there, and they have a similar set of rules, and a refusal of your request was in order, so then you thought you would try elseware. And if that is not the case, those are the rules at this site, no help with passwords. You really should have read the rules as soon as you joined, as requested in the "Welcome Guide for new members". As for passwords, the rules are the rules no password help. As Squashman states, he didn`t make the rules, but those are the rules. Squashman, there are always going to be that type of individual out there as I am sure I don`t have to tell you that tries to bypass rules, or doesn`t take the time to read the rules, then wants to blame everyone else for their ignorance of the rules. Squashman, your reply held none of the so called implications the op thinks in their mind it did, especially the "being snappy part"(LOL). Don`t waste another minute on it. Your statement was just that, a statement. Someone with 2 posts trying to jump on a Trusted Advisor that is simply making a statement about reading, and following the rules, now I have something to say about that, and just did.
