First state your system and browser.

Active X isn't a type of program. it's a tool used on some sites to enable you to read the site. What kind of problem are you having?

When i try to down load smiley faces the yellow bar dose not come down to activate the active x program and when i try to download the program it wont down load ....thanks

Let's see what's installed and auto-loading and if any obvious infection is present.

Go here and click the green icon to download and save HijackThis 2.0.2.

Close all open windows first, then install it in its default location.

Run a scan with it - which will take 30 seconds or less.

Save the resulting log in Notepad.

Return here, then copy-and-paste the entire log here.
