XP Won't Boot
Currently using XP Media Center 2005 that has all service packs installed, IE8, Working Anti-Virus also updated.
Microflex 66B, Intel Core 2 Duo 6600, 2 MB Ram, 250 GB Sata Drive, a second drive with a lot of data stored on it, Nvidia 7100 Turbo Card with 512MB, ATI TV Wonder.
Computer has not been used for 2 weeks due to a knee operation.
XP will not boot. Goes normally to the colorful XP splash screen, looks like it is loading, splash screen goes off and about 5 seconds later it reboots and does the start/stop/reboot thing again.
Have tried booting in the Safe mode ans it gets to loading Windows\System32\Drivers\MUP.SYS, pauses for several seconds, then reboots.
There is no recovery console installed, and will not boot to last good configuration.
Have tried blowing the dust out of it, reseating all cards and memory, etc. with no luck. I am afraid that although most of the data in on the secondary hard drive that some data may be in Documents and Settings\ etc. and I need that data.
The only CD I have is the boxed MS Windows XP Media Center Edition with updates for Version 2005.
