A different error??
Well I decided to install Windows XP professional on my computer earlier today, and after installing I noticed that it would not go past the press any key to boot from CD, instead it kept going striaght to Windows is checking your systems.. (ect, ect). So I removed the disk and tried to boot from the HDD and when it loaded it would say something about the Boot.ini so I loaded up the setup went to the Recovery thing and logged onto C, then I typed fixboot and got the error, (Will post here ina few.) anyhow so I typed bootcfg /default and there was 2 on the C drive I chose the Windows XP professional (Which was 2) and it said it was chosed as default, once again I typed fixboot and got the same error. I typed exit and tried to load it again only to get the boot.ini failure as usual. Help please?

When I type bootcfg /default, all these come up

I guess I don't understand why you would have so many entries on the boot menu.

What operating system did you have on this machine before?

Have you tried more than once to install XP?

When you installed XP, did you first format the partition to get rid of whatever else was there?

And finally, do you have more than one partition on this machine?
