XP Sp2 setup, ieSetup.exe Entry Point Not Found?
When installing SP2 on a fresh install of XP I get the error
ieSetup.exe entry point not Found.
The proceedure entry point SHregGetValueW could not be
located in dynamic link liberary SHLWAP.dll
This is an XP install in a 250g drive and I need SP2 for
drive expansion. I had a sucessful install at first but after
I reinstalled this SP2 error comes up.

Maybe I need to reformat that extra large drive before
an XP install. It is a western Digtial Stat Drive.
Any formatting software for that.

Thank you,

I don't find a file named SHLWAP.DLL on my Windows SP3 system. I do have SHLWAPI.dll in the three usual places though.

Verify that you have the name correct because it could mean you have a virus.

I'm going out on a limb here, but go to control panel -> add/remove programs and remove Internet Explorer 8. Uninstall it completely, then run automatic updates, re-installing it. Tell me if it works :]

It is a fresh install on a 250G drive. I don't believe Internet Explorier 8 is on a fresh install
of XP? I want SP2 on it to get the full capacity of the 250G drive plus other things that
SP2 offers.

ieSetup.exe is internet explorer. And fresh install or not, if automatic updates are enabled, it will eventually install IE8. If Automatic updates are enables, you may want to check up on what it's been up to.

Another Problem with Net Port
1. Had vista on a Acer Acer 180T-UD400B machine but Iost it so I am putting XP on it.
2. Install xp (sp1) on Acer 180T-UD400B with 250G drive. I used about 60G of space.
3. Find that my At&t DSL connection does not work.
4. The connector slot uses a motherboard slot. It uses a cable that goes the a
dsl router.
5. Look at acer webpage and can't find the driver. Really don't know what I am looking
for to get that driver for that dsl port.
Can someone help?
